About P.S. 91Q

The P.A.C.K.'s Vision Statement

P.S. 91Q fosters a community of life-long learners who will function as driven and productive individuals in a highly sophisticated world.  Here at 91 we will create a nurturing environment for learning where all students' needs and learning styles are addressed through a deep collaborative analysis of learning in the classroom.  All stakeholders connected to the school community will strive to be part of a coordinated team approach that will ensure that our students are well equipped with the appropriate tools necessary to move on in education being college and career ready, which will afford them the opportunity to achieve the highest standards of educational success.
The P.A.C.K.'s Mission Statement

The mission of P.S. 91Q is to ensure that it's students will all be college and career ready as they move on to the next phase of education by individualizing instruction to meet the needs and styles of all of our students in accordance with the Common Core.  School-wide analysis of data through collaborative inquiry team meetings will help us to fully understand the areas of support needed for each individual child.  This will foster an environment where our diverse population of students, as well as the students with special needs, and limited English proficient students will be educated equitably.  We utilize various methodologies to encourage student-led inquiry amongst one another, which will support critical thinking and decision making skills.  In addition, we will continue to use staff developments to enhance and grow within our instructional practices, as well as frequent observations and feedback cycles supported by "The Danielson Framework for Teaching" to ensure the effectiveness of instruction.  We will continue to include parents in the education of their children by expanding parent workshops and encouraging parental involvement at every turn to support and reinforce the learning process.
Our philosophy is that all children will learn when provided with appropriate, engaging instruction in a rigorous, differentiated, and nurturing environment.  We must believe this and provide them with the knowledge and skills to perform at high levels, and to become leaders for the future.

Our Instructional Focus for the 2018-2019 School Year

By increasing the level of questioning (3B) within instruction teachers will challenge ALL students to think critically, solve problems, and build off of one another through authentic discussions that will help to increase the levels of student ownership (3D) over their own learning.
